Thomas Foley was a member of the Kings Point track & fieldteam and set the Mariners’ first records in the 110-yarddash, and total points scored.  He was instrumental to thedevelopment of the track & field team, captaining the squad toa 5-4 record and earning the 1945 Adm. Stedman Trophy, given to theAcademy’s Most Outstanding Athlete.  After graduation,Foley enrolled at St. Joseph’s College, where he was a memberof two Championship track & field teams and was the top pointscorer for three straight years. 

Foley continued to stay involved in sports coaching soccer andfootball teams while in the Air Force, following his matriculationfrom St. Joseph’s.  Foley earned his Master’sdegree in Clinical Psychology from Temple University in 1957 andhis Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Louisiana StateUniversity in 1964.  He retired from the Air Force after 31years on active duty as a Colonel, Chief of Air Force, andconsultant to the Surgeon General.
