David May Jr. ’09, the Admiral Giles C. Stedman Trophy recipient in 2009, was named the Academy’s first All-American in the sport of baseball when he was selected to the D3Baseball.com First Team after his senior season. A multi-sport athlete, May was also an All-Conference standout for the Mariner football team as a fullback. Despite playing just three seasons on the diamond, he left the Academy as the program’s all-time career leader in hits, RBIs, home runs and slugging percentage, and ranked second in batting average. May holds two NCAA Division III records for most home runs in consecutive at bats (five) and most home runs in a single game (four). The 2005 Skyline Co-Rookie of the Year, 2006 All-Skyline Second Team and 2009 All-Landmark First Team selection helped lead the baseball team to the program’s first-ever 20-win season his first class year. On the gridiron, he earned the football team’s Rookie of the Year Award in 2004, and was a First Team All-Liberty League selection as well as the team’s Offensive MVP in 2008.
