INDIANAPOLIS (March 18, 2025) – U.S. Merchant Marine Academy freshman diver Carter Kov (Goodyear, Ariz.) and diving coach LT Johan C. Lopez, USMS are out in the great Midwest this week, as Kov gets set to represent Kings Point at the 2026 NCAA Division III Swimming & Diving Championship Meet at the IU Natatorium on the campus of IU Indianapolis. Kov will be diving for the Mariners on Wednesday, March 18, and Friday, March 20.

Tickets must be purchase for entry into the NCAA DIII Swimming & Diving Championship Meet. They are available via Ticketmaster at this link.
 
Event Schedule
Kov will be competing in the three-meter diving event on Wednesday, March 18, with the preliminaries beginning at approximate 1 p.m. (ET). If he finishes in the top eight during prelims then he will move on to the Championship Finals which is listed as starting at 6 p.m. (ET), while the Consolation Finals flight for those who place 9-16 begins 30 minutes after the prelims finishes.
 
Then on Friday, March 21, Kov will take part in the one-meter diving event with the same schedule as Wednesday. Prelims begin at 1 p.m. (ET), Championship Finals for all events begin at 6 p.m. (ET) and the Consolation Finals begin 30 minutes after prelims.
 
How Kov Got Here
Kov qualified for nationals after finishing as the individual regional champion at the Northeast North Region Championship Meet back in late February. He won the three-meter board outright at regionals with a score of 500.00 before placing second in the one-meter discipline with a score of 472.60.
 
Throughout the 2025-26 season, Kov set new Academy records in both the three-meter and one-meter dive events (six dives) with scores of 379.88 and 374.03, respectively.
