INDIANAPOLIS (March 20, 2026) – U.S. Merchant Marine Academy freshman diver
Carter Kov (Goodyear, Ariz.) picked up his second All-America honor of the week on Friday, his final day of competition at the 2026 NCAA National Championship Meet in Indianapolis. The rookie sensation landed on the All-America First Team with a top-eight finish in the one-meter diving event.

Kov scored 486.60 points in the one-meter championship final on Friday evening, which was good for fifth place in the nation. He was the top freshman in the event, finishing ahead of Kenyon's rookie Chase Smith, who scored 474.45 for sixth place.

Earlier in the week, the plebe's 11th-place finish on the three-meter board earned him All-America Honorable Mention honors, while Friday's performance secured First Team All-America status.

Kov's performance on Friday added 14 team points to Merchant Marine's total at the meet. The Mariners will finish with 20 total team points, which is currently good for a tie for 28th place in the nation. Final team standings will be determined when the NCAA Championship Meet concludes on Saturday evening.
