Men’s Swim & Dive Closes Out Perfect 10-0 Dual-Meet Schedule With Home Win Over Baruch

KINGS POINT, N.Y. (Jan. 20, 2026) – The U.S. Merchant Marine Academy men's swimming & diving team recorded its third undefeated dual-meet schedule in the past four seasons with a 156-77 home victory over non-conference opponent Baruch College on Tuesday night at the Sue Petersen Lubow Pool. The Mariners' record moves to 10-0 with the win, while the Bearcats fall to 8-2 in defeat.
 
Meet Link Junior diver Charlie Williams (Vienna, Va.) officially qualified for the NCAA Diving Regional Championships later this season with his first-place finish in the one-meter dive with a score of 304.75.
 
The rest of the Mariners' first-place finishes are listed below.
  • Sophomore Ryan McOsker (Fredericksburg, Va.), juniors Luke Dankert (Grand Island, Neb.) and Jacob Socarras (Winter Springs, Fla.), and sophomore John Frank (Highland, Md.) won the 200 medley relay in 1:37.05.
  • Junior Jason Equiano (Yonkers, N.Y.) won the 1000 freestyle in 10:46.13.
  • Frank won the 200 free in 1:47.36.
  • Sophomore Max Fedorenko (Chicago, Ill.) won the 50 free in 22.02.
  • Dankert won the 200 individual medley in 2:02.82.
  • Fedorenko won the 100 butterfly in 53.40.
  • Junior Abraham Shim (Rockwall, Texas) won the 100 backstroke in 56.14.
  • Freshman Nicholas Hardt (Friendswood, Texas) won the 500 free in 4:58.77.
  • Freshman Carter Kov (Goodyear, Ariz.) won the three-meter dive with a score of 344.70 (an NCAA qualifying score).
  • Dankert won the 100 breaststroke in 59.66. 
Additionally, Frank hit a season-best time in the 200 free by one second (1:47.36), while his brother, junior Luke Frank (Highland, Md.), had a season-best in the 1000 free by two seconds (10:57.05), and Socarras set a personal best in the 100 backstroke (59.02).
 
The "Mariner of the Meet" honors, awarded based on a team vote to an individual for their performance and contribution to the team, went to Hardt and Williams for the divers.
