NEW YORK (Jan. 16, 2026) – On Friday, the USMMA men's track & field team took part in the 2026 Ramapo Opener at the world-famous Nike Track & Field Center at The Armory. No team scores were kept at the event, but the Mariners recorded a number of top-10 finishes and personal- and season-best marks on the season.

Three Mariners placed in the top-10 throughout the day, with sophomore thrower Garrett Rees (Rising Sun, Md.) leading the way with a seventh-place showing in the shot put with a mark of 12.28m (40-03.50). Freshman jumper Scott Ford (Baltimore, Md.) placed eighth in the long jump with a leap of 6.50m (21-04.00) and senior distance runner Luke Zwiesler (Colbert, Wash.) came in ninth place in the one-mile run with a time of 4:25.03.
 
Picking up personal-records at the meet were the following Mariners:

• Senior Elijah Ramthun (Bozrah, Conn.) in the 800m (2:03.52)
• Senior Casey Symons (Harrington Park, N.J.) in the one-mile run (4:39.16)
• Freshman Hugh Ludington (Highland Park, Ill.) in the 60m hurdles (11.74)
• Freshman Mackay Minter (Townsend, Ga.) in the 200m (23.73)
• Freshman Kaiser Ilker (Greenwich, Conn.) in the 200m (24.30)
• Freshman Isaac Bradley (Ebensburg, Pa.) in the 400m (55.71)
• Freshman Arjun Suresh (Plainsboro, N.J.) in the one-mile run (4:40.81)
• Freshman Cooper Johnson (Honolulu, Hawaii) in the one-mile run (4:51.59) 

The following Mariners recorded season-best marks:

• Senior Silas Glynn (Folsom, Calif.) in the 800m (2:02.37)
• Sophomore Ethan Alliot (Sheridan, Wy.) in the 800m (2:13.40)
• Freshman John Park (Falling Waters, W.Va.) in the 400m (56.19)

 
Kings Point returns to action on Saturday, Jan. 24, when they participate in Southern Connecticut State's William Sutherland Invitational, which will begin at 12-noon at the Owls' James Moore Field House on their New Haven, Conn., campus.
