KINGS POINT, N.Y. (March 19, 2025) – The Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) announced the NCAA Division III national postseason awards for the 2024-25 season on Wednesday morning and U.S. Merchant Marine Academy freshman
Carolae Barton (Waldorf, Md.) was chosen as an All-America Honorable Mention!

Barton becomes the second Mariner in program history to be named an All-American after
Lauren Hunter '23 also earned honorable mention after her senior season in 2022-23. Barton is the first freshman to receive the honor in the 25 seasons of women's basketball at Kings Point.

The rookie forward was selected as both the Skyline Conference Defensive Player of the Year and Rookie of the Year and landed on the First Team All-Skyline. Then, yesterday, she was announced as the D3hoops.com Region 3 Rookie of the Year and chosen to the All-Region 3 First Team as well along with teammate
Emily Grasseler (Millbrook, N.Y.).

Going into the final weekend of the 2024-25 season, Barton currently ranks in the top-35 among all NCAA Division III players in eight different categories listed below.Â
- Fifth in double-doubles (18) and offensive rebounds per game (5.3)
- Eighth in total rebounds per game (13.1)
- Ninth in total rebounds (341)
- 14th in field goal percentage (.560)
- 21st in defensive rebounds per game (7.8)
- 30th in blocks per game (2.08)
- and 31st in total blocks (54)Â
