KINGS POINT, N.Y. (Nov. 21, 2024) – Coming off their big upset over then-#16 NYU on the road this past Saturday, the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy wrestling team has cracked into the top-25 in the nation in the latest rankings release by The Open Mat on Wednesday. The Mariners have subsequently dropped the Violets to #21.

Additionally, senior Reid Garrison has moved up to #7 in the nation at the 285 weight class following his victory over now 14th-ranked Evan Anderson of NYU that clinched the dual victory for the Mariners.
 
The Mariners are back in action at the 2024 New York State Championships hosted by SUNY Oneonta on Saturday, Nov. 23. Action is set to get underway at 9 a.m. at the Red Dragons' Dewar Arena. Live results for the meet will be available at this link.
