WEST POINT, N.Y. (Feb. 18, 2023) – The U.S. Merchant Marine Academy men's track & field team had eight top-five finishes, including a pair of victories by freshman
Isaac Clark (Weddington, N.C.), at the West Point Tune-Up hosted by Army on Saturday. No team scores were kept at the event.

Clark crossed the finish line first in both the one-mile run (4:21.41) and the 3000m run (8:39.42). Fellow plebe
Isaiah Sims (Sunnyvale, Texas) had an impressive day, qualifying for the finals in the 60m dash, placing second in the 400m (51.69) and fifth in the 200m (23.02).
Freshman
Luke Zwiesler (Colbert, Wash.) finished right behind Clark in the mile run, placing second in 4:25.58, while also coming in fourth in the 3000m with a time of 8:39.42.
And sophomore
Konnor Bye (Liberty Hill, Texas) produced two top-five finishes – third in the triple jump (13.26m) and fifth in the long jump (6.38m).
Additionally, a very large chunk of time was taken off in the 3000m by freshman
Alex Virostek (Silver Lake, Ohio) for a new personal best.
Next Friday, Feb. 24, the Mariners will take part in the FastTrack Last Chance Invite in Staten Island, N.Y. Any live links for the event will be posted on
