Women’s Lacrosse Shuts Out Purchase With Program-Record 26 Goals Scored

KINGS POINT, N.Y. (April 7, 2026) – The USMMA women's lacrosse team set a program record for goals in a game on Tuesday night, rolling to a 26-0 shutout victory over Purchase in Skyline Conference action at Brooks Stadium. The win improves the Mariners to 6-3 overall and 4-0 in conference play, while the Panthers fall to 0-8 (0-4 Skyline).
 
Game Links Junior Grace Picozzi (Collegeville, Pa.) led all players with a game-high nine points on five goals and four assists, while sophomore Lana Hayes (Toms River, N.J.) posted a career-best six points behind five goals and one assist. Junior Leslie Wysong (Mount Pleasant, S.C.) also contributed six points on four goals and two assists and dominated the draw circle with a game-high 12 DCs to go along with four caused turnovers and six ground balls.
 
Sophomore Amber Fields (St. Augustine, Fla.) added five points (3G, 2A), while freshman Sarah Litz (Westminster, Md.) recorded four points (3G, 1A). Sophomore Katie Wahab (Waxhaw, N.C.) also tallied five points on a goal and four assists, marking the first points of her career, and sophomore Reese Ripley (Denver, Colo.) chipped in two goals and four draw controls. Defensively, Picozzi added four caused turnovers, while Litz recorded two. Sophomore defender Juliet Trouse (Riverdale, N.J.) also found the back of the net for the first time in her career.
 
In goal, senior Karianna Eagle (Little Egg Harbor Township, N.J.) and sophomore Ava Booker (Tampa, Fla.) combined for the shutout, with Booker making the Mariners' lone save of the contest.
 
Purchase was limited to just one shot on the evening, with Catie Chios registering the Panthers' only attempt on a free-position attempt in the fourth quarter. Savannah Haynes made eight saves in goal for Purchase while also collecting two ground balls.
 
The Mariners return to action on Saturday, April 11, when they travel to the Bronx to take on Skyline foe Mount St. Vincent. Opening draw is scheduled for noon at the Dolphins Athletic Field at Marillac.
