KINGS POINT, N.Y. (Jan. 10, 2026) – The USMMA wrestling team hosted the 2026 Mariner Duals on Saturday at the Liebertz Gymnasium and came out undefeated at the event with victories over Plymouth State (43-6), New England College (44-4) and Maine Maritime (52-0). The wins improve the Mariners' record to 5-2 on the season in duals.

Two Mariners went a perfect 3-0 on the day, as junior
Tyler Withers (Gettysburg, Pa.) made his season-debut and picked up two pins and a technical fall at 184, while freshman
Aiden Krass (Gonzales, La.) produced one fall and two techs throughout the day at 149.

Five others boasted two wins at the event – senior
Wesley Wydick (Utica, Ohio) at 133, junior
Colin Dragon (Richmond Hill, Ga.) at 141 and junior
Grant Mathias (Rockwood, Pa.) at 197 all with one pin each, freshman
Jonathan Harms (Niantic, Conn.) at 285 with two pins, sophomore
Maxwell Corral (Oak Forest, Ill.) with a decision win at 285 and a pin tech fall at 197 and sophomore
Logan Weaver (Suwanee, Ga.) with two wins via forfeits.

Charles Case (Cream Ridge, N.J.) at 133,
Viviano Gutierrez (La Habra, Calif.) at 165 and
Andrew Huesgen (Shillington, Pa.) at 174 by win of falls, junior
Matthew Trinidad (Mesa, Ariz.) at 157 by a tech and classmate
Matthew Ferrucci (Killingworth, Conn.) with a decision and senior
Joe Wasilewski (Stafford, Va.) and freshman
Jacob Wilson (Ebensburg, Pa.) at 174 and 165, respectively, with forfeit wins.

Up next, the Mariners will take part in the New York/Pennsylvania Duals hosted by Wilkes University in Wilkes-Barre, Pa., on Saturday, Jan. 17. Action is set to get underway at 11 a.m. at the Colonels' Marts Center.
