Box Score NEWBURGH, N.Y. (April 15, 2025) – On Tuesday afternoon, the USMMA tennis team took care of business on the road with a 6-1 defeat of Skyline opponent Mount St. Mary. The Mariners' second-straight win improved their record to 4-3 (4-1 Skyline), while the Knights fell to 6-7 (2-4 Skyline) in defeat.

USMMA swept the doubles competition to earn the first point of the afternoon. Freshmen Fredrich Buquel (Mission, Texas) and Aaron Zhao (Temple City, Calif.), and sophomores Lena Lewis (Williamsburg, Va.) and Patrick Novotny (Fort Worth, Texas) won their matches by the same scores of 6-1 while senior Garrett Hall (Collierville, Tenn.) and freshman Clay Wilson (Fort Mill, S.C.) won 6-0.

In singles action, Buquel claimed the first point, winning 6-1, 6-0, and then Novotny took care of business in his game, winning both sets by the scores of 6-2. Zhao won 6-4, 7-6, 8-6 to clinch the match for Kings Point, 4-0. Wilson and Hall won both matches in straight sets to close it out for the Blue and Gray. Wilson defeated his opponent 6-4, 6-0, while Hall won 6-0, 6-0.

Up next, USMMA returns home for a makeup match against Hunter this Friday, April 18, in non-conference action. The match will begin at 4 p.m. at Brooks Stadium.
