NEW YORK (Feb. 15, 2025) – On Saturday, the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy women's track and field team competed at the NYU DIII Invitational at the Nike Track & Field Center at The Armory. Freshman
Jasmine Predum (Bakersfield, Calif.) highlighted the Mariners' performances, setting a new Academy Record in the pole vault.

Predum etched her name into the Mariner record books, clearing a height of 2.65m (8' 8.25"), breaking the previous mark of 2.60m (8' 6.25") held by
Breanna Frank '22 since 2019. The Bakersfield, Calif., native came in ninth in the event.
Senior
Kelley Lakawitch (Homer Glen, Ill.) recorded two PRs and posted a top 10 finish on the day. Lakawitch ran a 9.82 in the 60m dash, crossing the finish line in eighth and putting up another personal best in the 200m with a time of 32.72.
Plebe
Jayme Santasiero (Houston, Texas) was the Blue and Grey's top finisher in the 200m with a personal best of 27.95. Classmate
Kathryn Wahab (Waxhaw, N.C.) rounded out the Merchant Marine PRs with a time of 32.33.
Sophomore
Jordan Washington (Tampa, Fla.) finished 10th in the weight throw with a toss of 12.43m (40' 9.5").
KP returns to competition next Saturday, Feb. 22, at the West Point Tune Up in West Point N.Y.
