GARDEN CITY, N.Y. (Dec. 13, 2025) – The U.S. Merchant Marine Academy wrestling team took a select group of wrestlers to the nearby Nassau Open hosted by Nassau Community College on Saturday. No team scores were kept at the event and a total of three Mariners earned top-six placements in their respective brackets.

Freshman
Aidan Dugan (Westwood, N.J.) came in fourth place in the 184-pound bracket, while sophomore
Jacob Brockey (Syosset, N.Y.) placed fifth at 157 and junior
Barrett Waller (Olathe, Kan.) ocame in sixth at 184. Dugan went 3-2 with a pin and a pair of decisions, Brockey boasted a team-best 4-2 record with one pin, one technical fall and two decisions, and Waller compiled a 3-3 record with two pins and a decision.

Also compiling multiple victories throughout the day were freshman
Miles Price (Seattle, Wash.), who went 4-2 at 147, classmate
Reed Kerstetter (Edison, N.J.) at 165, going 3-2 with one pin, and senior
Joe Wasilewski (Stafford, Va.) and sophomore
Vincent Vogan (Las Vegas, Nev.) at 174 as well as freshman
Dylan Rohn (Knoxville, Tenn.) all with 2-2 records (with Wasilewski picking up two pins and Vogan and Rohn recording one apiece).

Caleb Hutchins (Buffalo, N.Y.) at 184 and freshman
Jonathan Harms (Niantic, Conn.) at 285 both had pins as well.

The Mariners are off for the rest of 2025 and return to action in the New Year, when they host the Mariner Duals on Saturday, Jan. 10, beginning at 3 p.m. inside the Liebertz Gymnasium.
