Freshman Carly Soboloski (Peoria, Ariz.) registered her eighth double-double of the season, registering 10 kills and leading the way defensively with 11 digs. Junior Erin Stillinger (Keller, Texas) also contributed to the Blue and Gray attack with 10 kills of her own and added two blocks.

Sophomore Sydney Douglas (Herndon, Va.) threw down nine kills and added eight digs while classmate Maddie Mayer (Centennial, Colo.) led Merchant Marine from the service line with five aces and recorded two blocks. Freshman Emma Borlie (Baltimore, Md.) dished out 19 assists and senior Alexa Tipps (Palmdale, Calif.) distributed nine.

USMMA jumped out to a commanding start behind Stillinger's three early kills as part of a 6-2 opening run. The Mariners built their advantage to 12-5 following a service run by senior Stephanie Schatzman (Virginia Beach, Va.), which included a kill from freshman Sofia Dohr (Austerlitz, N.Y.) and an Old Westbury attack error. The Panthers briefly closed the gap to 14-9, Soboloski and Mayer answered with back-to-back kills to reestablish control. A Stillinger service ace brought the Mariners to set point, and a Panther service error sealed the 25-15 win.

Old Westbury battled closely early in the second, but USMMA's offense began to find rhythm behind Douglas, who tallied three kills during a decisive 10-1 surge that stretched the lead to 17-6. Sophomore Jenny Dyke (Grand Rapids, Mich.) added a kill through the middle during that run, while Tipps helped spearhead the attack with four assists in the set. The Panthers made a brief push late, cutting the deficit to 24-17, but a Douglas kill from Borlie closed the door.

The Blue and Gray dominated the final frame from the service line and at the net. Mayer opened the set with four straight service aces during an 11-4 run that broke the set wide open. Stillinger and Douglas each posted three kills in the stretch. The Panthers briefly rallied to within 17-9, but the Mariners closed the door as Schatzman landed a service ace to make it 21-9 before Stillinger put it away with the final kill off a perfect assist from Borlie to secure the 25-14 clincher and the sweep.

Merchant Marine finished with 35 kills, 33 assists, and nine aces while holding Old Westbury to a .000 attack percentage.

USMMA finishes up Skyline play on Wednesday, Nov. 5, against Purchase at 7 p.m.
