KINGS POINT, N.Y. (Oct. 3, 2025) – The U.S. Merchant Marine Academy women's soccer team earned a convincing 3–0 win over CCNY on Senior Night at Brooks Stadium on Friday night. The Mariners extended their unbeaten streak to eight games, improving to 6-3-2 with the win, while the Beavers fell to 1-5-1.

Freshman Sakura Lopez (San Diego, Calif.) opened the scoring in the 17th minute for the Blue and Gray, blasting her fourth goal of the year to make it 1-0. Senior Morgan Mitchell (Amory, Miss.) doubled Merchant Marine's lead in the 38th minute off an assist from sophomore Jayme Santasiero (Houston, Texas) to make it 2-0 going into the halftime break.
The Mariners kept up the pressure in the second half, adding an insurance goal in the 80th minute when Santasiero finished off a corner kick feed from sophomore Lauren Enterline (Harrisburg, Pa.), to cap the 3–0 shutout.
The Mariners dominated statistically, outshooting the Beavers 27–1 and dominating the corners 6-0.
Freshman goalkeepers Charli Warren (Atlanta, Ga.) and Kait Meyer (Lehi, Utah) teamed up for a combined shutout.
Merchant Marine is back in action on Tuesday, Oct.7, against Mount St. Mary at 7 p.m. in Skyline Conference action at Bartoszek Field.
