KINGS POINT, N.Y. (Oct. 11, 2025) – The USMMA women's volleyball team earned a four-set home Skyline Conference victory over Mount St. Vincent on Saturday afternoon inside Liebertz Gym, 3-1 (25-20, 25-15, 23-25, 25-20). With the win, the Mariners improve to 11-7 overall and remain unbeaten in Skyline play at 5-0, while the Dolphins drop to 7-11 (1-3 Skyline).

Sydney Douglas (Herndon, Va.) each posted 12 and 10 kills, respectively, combining for seven aces.

Set 1 - USMMA 25, Mount St. Vincent 20: The Mariners came out strong, building a 7-2 lead on two kills each from Stillinger and Mayer. After the Dolphins tied it at 15-15, USMMA responded with a 5-0 surge fueled by back-to-back kills from Douglas and Soboloski. A late kill by Soboloski and a service ace from Mayer sealed the opening frame.

Set 2 - USMMA 25, Mount St. Vincent 15: Merchant Marine dominated from the start, using a 9-1 run midway through the set highlighted by consecutive kills from Dohr and Stillinger and two Douglas aces. The Mariners' block held Mount St. Vincent to a negative hitting percentage in the frame, while Dohr capped the set with her fourth kill of the game to give USMMA a 2-0 match lead.

Set 3 - Mount St. Vincent 25, USMMA 23: The Dolphins capitalized on early miscues to take a 5-0 lead and later held off a late Mariner rally. USMMA cut a 17-12 deficit to 23-23 behind kills from Douglas and Stillinger and a Schatzman ace, but Mount St. Vincent scored the final two points to extend the match.

Set 4 - USMMA 25, Mount St. Vincent 20: Trailing 15-11 midway through, the Mariners stormed back behind Dohr and Soboloski, who combined for five kills during a 9-2 run. Mayer delivered two key aces late, and Stillinger closed the match with a kill from Borlie to seal the 3-1 victory.

Mount St. Vincent was led by Sienna Martin with 10 kills and three digs, while Stephanie Rodriguez tallied 24 assists and 17 digs. Gabrielle Mills added a match-high 18 digs, and Alyssa Padgett finished with six kills and four blocks.

The Mariners return to action on Tuesday, Oct. 14, when they travel to Manhattanville for a Skyline Conference matchup.
