Meet Link In the opener against the Cadets, the Mariners won five of the first six bouts contested, as senior Eddie Pinc (Medina, Ohio) earned a 16-6 major decision at 157, followed by a pin by freshman Matthew Gauthier (Forked River, N.J.) at 165. Two bouts later, sophomore Tyler Withers (Gettysburg, Pa.) started a three-bout win-streak with a pin in just 59 seconds at 184. That was followed by a third-period fall by senior Jimmy Dunagan (Boulder City, Nev.) and then a major decision by senior Reid Garrison (Broadway, Va.) at heavyweight that gave the Mariners a commanding 26-3 lead.

Sophomore Colin Dragon (Richmond Hill, Ga.) recorded his first of two pins on the day at 133 and classmate Matthew Trinidad (Mesa, Ariz.) closed out the match with a tech. fall as time expired in the first period at 149.

After back-to-back forfeits inched Plymouth State closer, 24-17, two pins and a forfeit win for themselves clinched the victory for the Mariners. Dragon earned his second fall of the day, followed by a forfeit win at 141 by junior Corey Haney (Medina, Ohio) and a quick 57-second pin by freshman Kieran Bruen (Farmingdale, N.J.) at 149 that finished the day for Merchant Marine.
