NEWBURGH, N.Y. (Oct. 5, 2024) – On Saturday, the USMMA women's soccer team defeated Skyline Conference opponent Mount St. Mary on the road, 1-0, up at the Knights' Kaplan Field. With the win, the Mariners' record improves to 6-1-3 (5-0-1 Skyline), while MSMC falls to 4-6-2 (3-2-1 Skyline) in defeat.

Margaret Ripperger (McKinney, Texas) earned the shutout in goal after making four saves.
Sophomore
Alexx Forman (Cincinnati, Ohio) scored the only goal of the game in the 52nd minute off an assist by freshman
Lauren Enterline (Harrisburg, Pa.).
The Mariners outshot Mount St. Mary, 10-7, on the night, but it was the host institution who had the edge in shots on goal, 4-3.
For the Knights, grad student goalkeeper Christina Kakavas made two saves in the losing effort. The Mariners
Merchant Marine is back in action on Tuesday night, Oct. 8, when they travel to Brooklyn to take on St. Joseph's-Brooklyn in a Skyline Conference showdown that begins at 7:30 p.m. at the Aviator Sports Complex.
