BRONX, N.Y. (May 6, 2023) – The United States Merchant Marine Academy women's lacrosse team has built a dynasty on the banks of Little Neck Bay, securing its second straight Skyline Championship and fourth NCAA Tournament berth in five seasons as the second-seeded Mariners dispatched the top-seeded Privateers, 18-11 on Reinhart Field.

The Blue and Gray were at its most effective in its most important battle, notching a season-high .643 shot percentage, scoring 18 goals on 28 shots including an additional 11 assists.

Jenna Turrentine (Kennesaw, Ga.) went straight beast mode on the Privateers, scoring a career-best eight goals and nine points, putting all but one of her shot attempts into the back of the net (.889) on top of causing a turnover.

Lauren Jablonowski (Levittown, N.Y.) logged a contest-most three assists with a goal added in while
Gianna Russo (Wake Forest, N.C.) put together the exact opposite of a trio of goals to along with one assist as well as causing a pair of turnovers on defense.

Jaqui Sheedy (Baltimore, Md.) led The Academy with eight draw controls, Jablonowski snatched five, and
Anai Walters (Grantville, Pa.) dug up a career/team-high three grounders.

Amber Heverly (Arnold, Md.) captured a Championship Game victory in her collegiate debut campaign, collecting double-digit saves (10) for the fifth time while moving to 9-2 in goal.
