KINGS POINT, N.Y. (April 15, 2023) – The United States Merchant Marine Academy women's lacrosse team scored in double-digits during a quarter for the second time this season, posting ten goals over the first 15 minutes of action while shutting out the Dolphins in the second half on their way to a 20-2 decision and a seventh straight victory.

Merchant Marine went for campaign-highs of five free-position goals and a 62.5% shot percentage while scoring its second short-handed goal as well as dropping 20-plus goals for just the second time in 2023.

Lauren Jablonowski (Levittown, N.Y.) set career-highs in numerous stats including nine points, six draw controls, five assists, and three caused turnovers with all except the draw controls being game-bests as well.

Amber Heverly (Arnold, Md.) saved 71.4% of the on-target shots thrown her way, the second-highest rate of the year at five saves and two goals allowed.

Gianna Russo (Wake Forest, N.C.) also went off, claiming new personal benchmarks in both points (5) and goals (4).

Meghan Malone (Crofton, Md.) and
Nicole Nagengast (Seaford, N.Y.) tied for the Mariners' lead for ground balls at three apiece with the former also tying Jablonowski for the forced turnovers crown.

Jaqui Sheedy (Baltimore, Md.) claimed a contest-most seven draw control victories on the afternoon plus
Kaitlyn Latchaw (Phoenix, Md.) poured in a crucial five points on four scores as well.
