For the second straight game, sophomore
Drew Zalescik (Lambertville, N.J.) scored 21 of his team's 59 points. Zalescik's strong play in conference games in 2023 thus far continued, as he is averaging 16 points per game in nine contests, all in-conference, since the turn of the calendar.
Alongside Zalescik, fellow sophomore
Kody Robinson (Woodbridge, N.J.) kept the Mariners in the game with 15 points thanks to a 6-for-17 afternoon from the field as well as three bullseyes from downtown.
What separated the Mariners from a win was a solid performance from Panthers' forward Isaac Johnson, who scored a season-high 23 points. A 7-for-10 mark from the field and a 3-for-5 day from downtown by Johnson propelled the Panthers to the victory.
USMMA will look to bounce back on Wednesday, Feb. 8, at home against SUNY Maritime in the Mariners' first 142 Game at Liebertz Gymnasium. Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. Live stats and a live video feed of the game will be available with links on
