BRONX, N.Y. (Sept. 28, 2025) – The U.S. Merchant Marine Academy women's cross country team delivered a strong performance at the Queensborough Invitational on Sunday morning at Van Cortlandt Park, finishing fourth overall out of 20 teams with a score of 126. The Mariners were second among a competitive field of 14 Division III programs and were first among Skyline Conference opponents.

Freshman Eleanor Romeo (Carson City, Nev.) paced the Blue and Gray with a season-best fourth-place finish in 22:23.38. Classmate Lili Telvi (Southampton, N.Y.) also posted a strong performance, finishing eighth overall in 22:58.27 to break into the top 10 for the first time this season.
Junior Victoria Crofford (Fairfax, Va.) finished in the top 20 with an 18th place finish and a time of 23:48.09, followed by freshman Harmony Taylor (Morgantown, Ky.) in 25:10.72. Sophomore Karley Rush (Trinity, Fla.) and junior Katie Bray (Trussville, Ala.) rounded out the top six for the Blue and Gray, crossing the line with times of 28:46.73 and 29:56.75.
The Mariners lace it again next month on Saturday, Oct. 18, at the Rowan Border Battle.
