Women’s Lacrosse Downs Purchase, 25-1, For 100th Win In Program History

KINGS POINT, N.Y. (April 23, 2025) – The USMMA women's lacrosse program won its 100th game in program history on Wednesday night, all under the guidance of 13th-year head coach Kyle Simensky, as the Mariners defeated Skyline Conference opponent Purchase College, 25-1, at PC's Panthers Field. The victory improved the Mariners' win-streak to eight-straight and their overall record to 10-2 (7-0 Skyline), while Purchase closed out its season 0-12 (0-8 Skyline).
 
Game Link Seniors Gianna Russo (Wake Forest, N.C.) and Lauren Jablonowski (Levittown, N.Y.) both recorded career-highs in points, as Russo had 12 on six goals and six assists and Jablonowski registered 11 on five goals and six helpers.

Five other Mariners recorded multi-point nights, as sophomore Leslie Wysong (Mount Pleasant, S.C.) added four goals and an assist, classmate Grace Picozzi (Collegeville, Pa.) and freshman Reese Ripley (Denver, Colo.) both found the net three times while dishing out one assist, freshman Amber Fields (St. Augustine, Fla.) chipped in with two goals and one assist and fellow plebe Lana Hayes (Toms River, N.Y.) with a scored twice. Junior defender Keira Collins (Sayville, N.Y.) also got on the scoresheet with an assist.
 
Picozzi secured a career-high 17 draw controls, Jablonowski scooped up a career-best eight ground balls, and Jablonowski and Wysong both tied for the game-high with three caused turnovers.
 
In net, the birthday girl Karianna Eagle (Little Egg Harbor Township, N.J.) made one save to win her 10th game of the season.
 
Up next is a battle of the conference-undefeateds, as the Mariners will welcome in the reigning Skyline Conference Champion Farmingdale State Rams this Friday night, April 25, for the regular-season finale. Opening draw for the game that will determine the #1 seed in the upcoming Skyline Tournament is scheduled for 7 p.m. at Brooks Stadium.
