Mariners Win On Senior Day, 20-1, Over Mount St. Vincent; Seniors Combine For 13 Points

KINGS POINT, N.Y. (April 12, 2025) – Seniors Lauren Jablonowski (Levittown, N.Y.) and Gianna Russo (Wake Forest, N.C.) combined for 13 points to lead the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy women's lacrosse team to a 20-1 home victory over Mount St. Vincent on Saturday at Brooks Stadium. With their sixth-straight win, the Mariners improve to 8-2 (5-0 Skyline), while the Dolphins fall to 2-5 (2-2 Skyline) with the loss.
 
Game Link The two seniors were honored pregame with a special Senior Day ceremony before Jablonowski recorded eight points on a career-best seven goals with one assist and Russo added three goals and two helpers while also leading all players with eight ground balls.
 
Sophomore Leslie Wysong (Mount Pleasant, S.C.) also registered five points with four goals and one assist, while classmate Grace Picozzi (Collegeville, Pa.) scored twice and dished out two helpers. Freshman Reese Ripley (Denver, Colo.) recorded a hat-trick and also secured a game-high eight draw controls, while also tying classmate Lana Hayes (Toms River, N.Y.) with a game-best three caused turnovers. Hayes contributed one assist on the afternoon and fellow plebe Amber Fields (St. Augustine, Fla.) scored one goal.
 
Defensively, junior Nicole Nagengast (Seaford, N.Y.) scooped up five ground balls, freshman Meghan Shippos (Box, N.H.) had four GBs to go along with one caused turnover, freshman Juliet Trouse (Ridgefield, N.J.) added two ground balls and two CTs and junior Keira Collins (Sayville, N.Y.) had one of each, a ground ball and a caused turnover.
 
In goal, junior Karianna Eagle (Little Egg Harbor Township, N.J.) made three saves to earn the victory and also secured two ground balls.
 
For the Dolphins, junior Ella Meberg scored the only goal, while goalie sophomore Makenna Reekie made 21 saves, picked up a team-high seven ground balls and caused two turnovers. Senior Macey Forg had a team-best four draw controls.
 
The Mariners return to action on Tuesday night, April 15, when they travel to face rival SUNY Maritime in a key Skyline Conference contest. First draw is slated for 7 p.m. at the Privateers Reinhart Field.
