OLD WESTBURY, N.Y. (Oct. 11, 2025) – The U.S. Merchant Marine Academy men's soccer team dominated Old Westbury 6-1 on the road in Skyline Conference action on Saturday afternoon at Panther Park. The Mariners improve to 8-3-3 overall (5-1-2 Skyline), while the Panthers fell to 5-7-0 (3-4-0 Skyline).

USMMA got right to work on offense, scoring in the ninth minute when senior Drew Boukidis (Charlotte, N.C.) converted off a pass from junior Patrick Novotny (Fort Worth, Texas) to make it 1-0. Sophomore Cal Lutz (Charlotte, N.C.) extended the advantage to 2-0 in the 24th minute from Nototny. Novotny found the back of the net in the 31st minute from junior Andrew Jung (Fairfax, Va.) to make it 3-0 before the Panthers got on the scoreboard when Henrik Ropstad converted a penalty kick in the 44th minute to make it 3–1 going into the halftime break.
The Blue and Gray kept the pedal to the medal in the second half as Lutz notched his second of the match in the 58th minute to extend the advantage to 4-1. Senior Jack Ouellette (Alexandria, Va.) added a marker in the 62nd minute to make it 5-1, then sophomore Colin Robertson (Milford, Mich.) closed out the scoring on the afternoon in the 81st minute to give the Mariners a 6-1 victory.
Merchant Marine outshot Old Westbury 31-10 and dominated the corners 5-0. Junior goalkeeper Ethan Howell (Alexandria, Va.) earned the victory and made six stops in the contest.
The Mariners return home on Thursday, Oct. 16, to host WestConn in non-conference action at Bartoszek Field.
