Addy Bass scored four goals to lead the way for Coast Guard as she shared the team-high in points with Abby McAllister, the latter of whom had two goals and two assists for the Bears. Laine Weber added three goals, including two on free-position attempts for the hosts in the win. Mia Becker posted a goal to go along with six draw control victories and nine caused turnovers while Maici Mintchwarner made three saves in the first half to shut out the Mariners in the opening thirty minutes of play.
The first goal of the game was not registered until late in the first quarter, as both teams struggled to maintain possession on the field. Wysong accrued the first shot of the contest with four minutes played in the frame, but it would be Aislinn Murray of Coast Guard that scored the opening marker following a turnover caused by Sarah Skurat. The goal came with three-and-a-half minutes to play in the frame and was immediately followed by Becker converting a goal with the Bears down a player due to a green card issued seconds prior. McAllister scored on a free-position goal a minute later to give Coast Guard a 3-0 lead, which the Bears would take into the second quarter.
In the second frame, the home side collected five more markers with Bass and Weber striking for two goals apiece as the Mariners failed to register a shot in the frame. Coast Guard came out of the halftime break winning the opening draw control and scoring their ninth unanswered tally with Caitlyn Coates converting on a chance set up by Skurat. Picozzi netted her first goal of the day and the Mariners' opening salvo of the contest with less than two minutes gone from the clock, but her second goal came after the Bears had accumulated four more goals in the frame. The rookie scored completed her hat trick with the game's final goal as Coast Guard ran the clock off for the remainder of the quarter.
The Mariners will begin their Spring Break trip on March 9 against the Aggies of Delaware Valley University in Doylestown, Pa. The opening draw is set for 12 p.m. Live stats and a live video feed of the game will be available with links on
