KINGS POINT, N.Y. (Dec. 5, 2024) – The American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) announced the 2024 All-America Teams for NCAA Division III on Tuesday and U.S. Merchant Marine Academy senior
Talsen Smith (Roseville, Calif.) was selected to the Second Team Offense as a wide receiver.
Â
An All-NEWMAC First Team selection each of the past three seasons and a Second Teamer and the conference's Rookie of the Year in 2021, Smith has re-written the USMMA record book when it comes to receiving throughout his time on the gridiron in Kings Point. He holds Academy records for single-game receiving yards, single-season receiving yards and career receiving yards to name a few of his accolades.
Â
In 2024, Smith led all NEWMAC wide receivers with 1,080 yards on 64 catches, with his 120.6 receiving yards per game also ranking seventh among all Division III players, and his 10 receiving touchdowns ranking 37th in the nation.
