KINGS POINT, N.Y. (Sept. 24, 2020) – The U.S. Merchant Marine Academy men's soccer team will kick off the fall 2020 season with a pair of exhibitions against Army West Point over the next two weekends.
The Mariners and Black Knights will square off against each other this Saturday, Sept. 26, at 6 p.m. on Tomb Field at Brooks Stadium in Kings Point. The two teams will then face each other once again next Saturday, Oct. 3, up in West Point, N.Y., also beginning at 6 p.m.
This will be the first meeting between Army and Merchant Marine since 1983. The two service academies have battled it out 19 times since the series debut in 1963.
Athletes from both sides have complied with their institutions' and conferences' respective COVID-19 testing guidelines ahead of the competition.
The USMMA home game this Saturday will be closed to the general public. More info for our home game will be sent out in an internal Academy e-mail on Friday. The Army home game will be closed to outside spectators.
