KINGS POINT, N.Y. (April 29, 2026) – The #1-seed USMMA women's lacrosse team is headed back to the Skyline Finals after they bested visiting #4-seed St. Joseph's-Long Island 19-6 on Wednesday night in the 2026 Skyline Championship Semifinals at Brooks Stadium. The victory improves the Mariners' record to 11-3, while the Golden Eagles close out the season at 7-9.

Grace Picozzi (Collegeville, Pa.) led all players in the game with seven points on five goals and two assists, while also tying for the game-high with seven draw controls, picking up three ground balls and causing two turnovers. Freshman
Sarah Litz (Westminster, Md.) contributed six points on three goals and three helpers to go along with five draw controls.
Junior
Leslie Wysong (Mount Pleasant, S.C.) and sophomore
Amber Fields (St. Augustine, Fla.) both finished with four points each, as Fields found the back of the net four times and Wysong scored twice and added two assists, while also gobbling up a game-high five ground balls. Senior
Nicole Nagengast (Seaford, N.Y.) chipped in offensively with her first-career hat-trick, scooped up four GBs and led all players with four caused turnovers.
Freshman
Isabelle Perry (Atlanta, Ga.) scored twice and dished out one assist and sophomore
Grace Moriarty (Groton, Conn.) picked up her first career point with an assist.
Nine players recorded caused turnovers, with all four starting defensemen recording at least one CT. Sophomore
Juliet Trouse (Riverdale, N.J.) had three to go along with three ground balls. In goal, senior
Karianna Eagle (Little Egg Harbor Township, N.J.) made one save to earn the victory.
St. Joseph's came out strong, building up a 2-0 lead in the first two minutes, but the Mariners scored three of the next four goals and the game was tied 3-3 at the end of the first. USMMA did all the scoring in the second quarter, as they started to slowly pull away and led 8-3 at halftime.
The second half was nearly all Merchant Marine, as the Mariners outscored the Golden Eagles 11-3 in the final 30 minutes.
SJLI had two players record three points each, as Sabrina Doyle scored three times and Kaitlyn Ippolito had a goal and two assists. Julia Stolba tied Picozzi with a game-high seven draw controls and goalie Maggie Harding made nine saves in the losing effort.
The Mariners host the Skyline Championship Game this Saturday, May 2, against #2-seed Farmingdale State in a rematch of the 2025 title game. The game time will be announced once the USMMA men's lacrosse semifinal game on Thursday night has concluded.
