Women’s Lacrosse Drops 10-8 Decision To Farmingdale State In Skyline Final

KINGS POINT, N.Y. (May 2, 2026) – The U.S. Merchant Marine Academy women's lacrosse team fell to Farmingdale State, 10-8, in the 2026 Skyline Championship Game on Saturday afternoon at Brooks Stadium. The loss closes the Mariners' season at 11-4, while the Rams improve to 9-9 and claim the conference title.

Game Links Sophomores Reese Ripley (Denver, Colo.) and Lana Hayes (Toms River, N.J.) along with freshman Isabelle Perry (Atlanta, Ga.) each scored two goals to pace the Mariners' offense. Junior Leslie Wysong (Mount Pleasant, S.C.) contributed a team-best three assists to finish with four points, while freshman Sarah Litz (Westminster, Md.) added a goal and an assist and junior Grace Picozzi (Collegeville, Pa.) also found the back of the net.

Defensively, Ripley led all players with five draw controls while also collecting five ground balls and causing three turnovers. Picozzi matched that ground ball total with five of her own, and Wysong added two caused turnovers and two ground balls. In goal, senior Karianna Eagle (Little Egg Harbor Township, N.J.) made five saves over 60 minutes in the loss.

The Mariners got off to a strong start, building a 2-0 lead in the opening quarter behind goals from Ripley and Picozzi. Farmingdale State answered late in the period to cut the deficit to 2-1 and carried that momentum into the second quarter, where the Rams outscored USMMA 4-2 to take a 5-4 lead into halftime.

Farmingdale State continued to control the middle portion of the game, adding three goals in the third quarter while limiting the Mariners to just one tally to extend the advantage to 8-5. USMMA continued to battle in the fourth, getting goals from Hayes and Perry as part of a late push, but the Rams were able to maintain separation down the stretch to secure the 10-8 victory.

The Rams were led by Carly Livingston, who totaled a game-high eight points on three goals and five assists, while Kailee Coppola and Krystal Sulin each added two goals. In goal, Giavanna Stamatelo earned Most Outstanding Player honors after making 18 saves to anchor the Rams' defense.
