United States Merchant Marine Academy

EXCELLENCE IN ATHLETICS

Superintendents' Trophy Presented By USAA
USAA Logo

Beginning in 2002-03, an added incentive was introduced to the longstanding athletic rivalry between the U.S. Coast Guard Academy and the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy. Rivals on the fields of competition and allies on the waters of the world, the two academies compete annually for the prestigious Superintendents' Trophy, now proudly sponsored by USAA.

One point is awarded for each head-to-head athletic competition between the two institutions. At the conclusion of the academic year, the academy that accumulates the most points is awarded the Superintendents' Trophy, presented by USAA.
