How It Happened
Ramapo struck first in the bottom of the second inning, pushing across two runs with the bases loaded to take a 2-0 lead. The Roadrunners added two more runs in the bottom of the third inning on an RBI groundout and a wild pitch to extend the advantage to 4-0.

The Blue and Gray rallied in the middle innings with five straight runs to grab a 5-4 lead. Kings Point got on the board in the top of the fourth inning when freshman Jason Brown (Marlton, N.J.) delivered an RBI single to cut the deficit to three runs, 4-1. USMMA continued to chip away in the top of the fifth as junior Landon Troutt (Fairfield, Calif.) ripped a two-run single to cut the deficit to 4-3. Merchant Marine took the lead in the top of the sixth inning when freshman Axel Prechel (Corvallis, Ore.) launched his first collegiate home run with a two-run blast to put the Mariners in front 5-4.

Ramapo answered immediately in the bottom of the sixth, tying it at five, when a run scored on a fielder's choice with bases loaded, then regained the lead 6-5 on an RBI double in the bottom of the seventh.

The Roadrunners pulled away with a four-run eighth inning with a two-run double, an RBI single, and scoring a run on a throwing error to stretch their lead to 10-5. KP was unable to respond in the top of the ninth as Ramapo secured the 10-5 win.
