HOBOKEN, N.J. (Jan. 24, 2018) – The U.S. Merchant Marine Academy wrestling team lost its Centennial Conference matchup on the road at #8 Stevens on Wednesday evening at the Ducks' Canavan Arena. The setback drops the Mariners' record to 6-5 (2-1 Centennial), while Stevens improves to 8-3 (3-0 Skyline) with the victory.
The Ducks stormed out to a 29-0 lead in the match with three pins (133, 141, 149), a technical fall at 125 and two decisions (157, 165), but USMMA answered back with the final 21 points of the match.
Sophomore Joshua Glantzman (Allenwood, N.J.) got the Mariners on the board with a 6-0 decision at 174, followed by a pin in 4:17 by classmate Collin Keil (Whitehouse, Ohio) at 184, another in 2:28 by junior Blake Bunce (Trophy Club, Texas) at 197 and then classmate Victor Raigoza (Orland, Calif.) finished out the match with a pin of his own at 285 in 4:15.

The Mariners hit the mat next this Saturday, Jan. 27, when they travel down to Charleston, S.C., to The Citadel to take part in the annual All-Academy Championships. Action is set to get underway at 10 a.m. at the Bulldogs' McAlister Field House.
