HERSHEY, Pa. Fisher lost his first two bouts of the event in the 197-pound weight class and has been eliminated from competition.
His first bout of the day was against the #2-seed in the weight class, nationally-ranked Shane Siefert from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. Siefert quickly jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the opening 30 seconds of the tilt and then, after a restart, pinned Fisher just 46 seconds into the bout for the victory.
Fisher fell to the wrestlebacks bracket and met Nathaniel Leer from The College of New Jersey. Fisher had defeated Leer by pin earlier this season in the Mariners' road loss at TCNJ back on Jan. 20. It was Leer that got the best of USMMA's junior stud this time, however, earning a 10-3 decision and sending Fisher home from nationals.
