KINGS POINT, N.Y. (April 23, 2019) – On Monday, the Skyline Conference announced that USMMA freshman Jessie Wohner (Norfolk, Va.) was named the league's women's lacrosse Player of the Week for the week ending April 21. Additionally, senior Meredith Willard (Portland, Maine) was selected to the Skyline weekly honor roll. The praise comes after the duo's performances in the Mariners' two victories last week – 16-6 on Wednesday at St. Joe's and 15-13 at home Saturday against Stockton.
Wohner tallied a team-high 15 points over the two wins last week. On Wednesday at St. Joseph's, she scored four goals and dished out four assists, before finishing the week by finding the back of the net a game-high seven times in the exciting win over the Ospreys on Saturday.
Willard tallied 12 points over the Mariners' two games scoring two goals and dishing out four assists on Wednesday before ending the week with six goals, including the 200th of her career, on Saturday.

Among all NCAA DIII players, one Mariner player ranks in the top-25 in the nation, as senior goalie Hannah Gizzi (Finksburg, Md.) is second in the country with a 5.16 goals against average and her 56.1% save percentage is good for sixth in the nation.
As a team, the Mariners rank in the top-25 among all 283 DIII teams in five categories listed below.
- They are now the only remaining undefeated team in the country, ranking first with a 1.000 win percentage
- They rank second in scoring defense, allowing just 5.0 goals per game.
- They are seventh in two categories with a 56.1% save percentage and a +10.69 scoring margin
- And they rank 15th with just 15.23 turnovers per game.
