KINGS POINT, N.Y. (Dec. 2, 2019) – USMMA senior Taylor Hightower (White Plains, Md.) earned a spot on the Skyline Conference women's basketball weekly honor roll, the league announced on Monday morning. The recognition comes after her performance in the Mariners' 68-41 road conference win over Purchase last Tuesday night.
Hightower matched the game-high with 18 points and also tied the team-high with 14 rebounds in the victory. It was the senior's seventh career double-double, with all the other six coming during the 2017-18 season including the last on Feb. 20, 2018. She also recorded three assists and three steals in the win.

Hightower currently ranks 24th in the nation with 12.0 rebounds per game, while her 4.7 offensive rebounds per game rank 39th. Three other Mariners rank in the top-45 among all Division III players in a statistical category – senior Kaleigh D'Arcy (White Plains, N.Y.) is 10th with 6.3 assists per game and 18th with a 3.17 assist to turnover ratio, sophomore Lauren Hunter (Tinley Park, Ill.) ranks sixth with 6.0 offensive rebounds per game and 45th with 11.0 total rebounds per game and classmate Julia Dahlke (San Diego, Calif.) ranks 45th with 3.33 steals per game.
As a team, the Mariners rank in the top-25 in the nation in 11 categories listed below.
- First in rebound margin (19.7) and fewest total fouls (32)
- Second in rebounds per game (58.67), offensive rebounds per game (27.3) and scoring defense, holding opponents to just 39.3 points per game
- Third with just 10.7 personal fouls per game
- Fourth in fewest total turnovers (46) and field-goal percentage defense, holding opponents to just 27.1-percent shooting
- 16th in three-point field-goal percentage defense, holding opponents to just 20.8-percent shooting from beyond the arc
- 18th in scoring margin (+25.0)
- And 21st in turnover margin (+8.0)
