Men’s Cross Country Comes In 15th Place At SLU’s Hoffman Invite

CANTON, N.Y. (Oct. 12, 2019) – The USMMA men's cross country team came in 15th place at the Hoffman Invitational/Pre-Atlantic Regional Meet on Saturday hosted by St. Lawrence University on the Saints' 8K Campus Course in Upstate New York. 

Sophomore Aodhan Meyer (South Kingston, R.I.) was the first Mariner to cross the finish line of the 8K race, placing 60th with a time of 27:02.3. Freshman Will Bucher (Carlisle, Pa.) and sophomore Lucas Jordan (Littleton, Colo.) finished back-to-back in 100th and 101st in 27:37.6 and 27:38.2, respectively. 

Sophomore Brennan Shute (Annapolis, Md.) came in 119th with a time of 27:59.5, while classmate Nicholas Arima (Honolulu, Hawaii) rounded out Merchant Marine's top-five with a 127th-place showing in 28:09.0.

Up next, the Mariners will take part in the Inter-Regional Border Battle hosted by Rowan University next Saturday, Oct. 19, at Gloucester County Dream Park in Logan Township, N.J. The men's 8K race is scheduled to begin at 11:45 a.m. At the event, USMMA is scheduled to take on arch-rival Coast Guard head-to-head for a point in the 2019-20 Superintendents' Trophy standings.
