Men’s Cross Country Finishes Season With 34th Place Showing At NCAA Atlantic Regionals

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (Nov. 15, 2014) – The USMMA men's cross country team went up to Genesee Valley Park in Upstate New York this weekend with a small team of five freshman to compete in the NCAA Atlantic Regionals, hosted by Rochester University. The Mariners placed 34th out of 41 full teams at the event.

Brennan Megeff (Rancho Palos Verdes, Calif.) led the way for Merchant Marine, crossing the finish line in 121st place out of 285 runners with a season-best time of 27:23.2 in the 8K race. Austin MacElrevey (Lewes, Del.) was not far behind, finishing in 131st place in 28:09.2.

Alexander Barton (Castle Rock, Colo.) (28:38.5) and Patrick McGuiness (Glenville, N.Y.) (season-best 29:40.1) crossed next for USMMA in 182nd and 224th place, respectively. Rounding out the scoring was Frank Brophy (New Hope, Pa.) who ended the season with a 265th place finish in 31:16.4.
