Day 1 Recap (From Wednesday)
GREENSBORO, N.C. (March 22, 2019) – Junior Nolan Monahan (Stafford, Va.) and freshman Patrick Tolloti (Dover, Ohio) will represent USMMA in the finals of the 100 breaststroke during the evening session of Day 3 of the NCAA National Championship Meet tonight. Monahan will be swimming in the Championship heat in search of the NCAA title for the event, while Tolloti earned a spot in the Consolation heat.
During the Preliminaries Session earlier on Friday, Monahan swam the third-best time in the 100 breast, touching in 54.45, which is a lifetime-best for the junior and beats his own Academy record time. He will be the third-seed in Lane 3 of the Championship Finals heat tonight.
Tolloti was in the same heat as Monahan for the prelims and touched in 55.04, which was good for eighth place and a spot in the Consolation Finals heat as the top-seed in Lane 4. That time was also a life-time best for the rookie.
