KINGS POINT, N.Y. (April 2, 2019) – The Skyline Conference announced on Monday that USMMA freshman Jason Aiello (Northport, N.Y.) was selected as the league's Men's Lacrosse Rookie of the Week, while senior Jack Renard (San Clemente, Calif.) earned a spot on the conference' weekly honor roll for the second straight week. The accolades come after the duo's performances in the Mariners' lone game of the week last week, a 16-4 home win over UMass-Boston on Saturday.
Aiello, the Mariners' staunch and physical starting defender, led all players in the contest with four caused turnovers and five groundballs. He currently leads the Mariners with 17 caused turnovers and is third on the team with 25 groundballs.
Renard picked up five points in the victory, as he found the back of the net twice and also dished out three assists and scooped up four GBs. The senior has recorded four-or-more points in every single game thus far this season for the Mariners.
