It was his first victory of the season. Senior Justus Martin (Eaton, Colo.) got the start and lasted 3.2 inning and gave up four runs (just one earned) on four hits while striking out five.

Barnes also swiped a game-high two bags.
Game two was breezing along, as neither team mustered a run through the first 4.5 innings. The Mariners finally got on the board first with three runs in the bottom of the fifth and held on for the 3-1 victory.
Freshman Quinton Heck (Massillon, Ohio) earned the win, his second of the season, after hurling six innings and allowing an unearned run on three hits with one strikeout. Junior John Kelly Jr. (Apex, N.C.) picked up the Mariners' first save of the season with a 1-2-3 seventh.
