Al Wind was a four-year letter winner with the Kings Point basketball team and a two-year letter winner with the KP baseball team. On the hardwood, he served as co-captain of the 1956-57 squad and was named a First Team Tri-State Collegiate Basketball All-Star as well as First Team All-Long Island. During his basketball career he set Academy marks for most points scored in a four-year career (949), consecutive free throws made in a season, and the most points scored in O’Hara Hall in a single game (41). He graduated holding the record for most free throws attempted in a game (20) and places 14th on the Mariner all-time scoring list. Wind was also named Second Team All-Long Island as a sophomore and as a junior. On the diamond, he was named to the All-Kinckerbocker Conference Team in 1954.
