Kenneth Nelson earned four varsity letters in football and one in wrestling at Kings Point. Ken became a starter for the Mariners' eleven at linebacker during his plebe year. During his tenure with the Blue and Gray, the team never had a losing season, compiling a 23-14 ledger. In his fourth year, when Ken was a team captain, the defense ranked first in the nation after allowing opposing teams a mere 59.8 yards per game rushing over the nine-game campaign. A 1.975 recipient of the Most Valuable Defensive Player and the Hanley-Naegele Award in Football, Ken also earned a host of accolades including being named to the Little All-American Team, All Metropolitan Conference Team, New York Times All-East Team, and the Eastern College Athletic Conference Second All-Star Team.
