Title: HOF Class of '94

Arden Means is one of the Academy’s original football players and track athletes.  He was a starter on the football team in the 1944 and 1945 seasons.  In 1945, he was twice honored as the East Coast Division’s top offensive lineman of the week, which was quite an achievement for a young man who had never played football prior to arriving at Kings Point.

Means also distinguished himself in the spring as a member of the track team, running different relay distances.  After his discharge from the Navy, Means went on to earn four varsity letters at the University of Nebraska.  He was named a Third-Team All-Conference player twice for the Cornhuskers.
