LaValley, Robbins Named to ECAC All-Star Teams

and junior Kaitlyn Robbins
were tabbed to the 2010 Eastern College Athletic Conference Division III South
Softball All-Stars squads. LaValley was tabbed to the First-team as the utility
player, while Robbins found her name in the shortstop’s slot on the

KINGS POINT, N.Y. - Senior Jess LaValley and junior Kaitlyn Robbins of the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy softball squad finished the 2010 campaign ranked amongst NCAA Division III's best players in three offensive categories. LaValley was first in the country with 0.52 doubles per game. In addition, the Havelock native was seventh in the nation with a .907 slugging percentage. Robbins finished fourth in the country in RBI per game (1.48).

of the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy softball team was named the league’s Player

game of a twinbill against Landmark Conference-opponent the

Scranton
by a final score of 5-3, but dropped the second contest, 4-2, at Pacer Field in
Scranton,
Pa.
With the split, the Mariners’ overall record moved to 11-20, while their league
ledger changed to 2-10. Following the day’s action, the Royals see their record
