Men's Basketball To Host A Pair Of Camps This Spring

The United States Merchant Marine Academy men’s basketball program will be hosting two coed basketball camps for students in grades 2-8 this spring. of the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy men’s basketball team was voted to the
All-Metropolitan Division III Third-team for his impressive 2009-10 campaign. This
accolade is yet another accomplishment to add to Samuel’s senior resume, which
includes scoring his 1,000th career point and leading the Mariners
to an outstanding 24-5 overall record, its first-ever Landmark Conference
Championship, a No. 23 national ranking, and to the second round of the NCAA

– The No. 23 U.S. Merchant Marine Academy men’s basketball squad is heading to
the second round of the NCAA Division III Tournament after it took down Wesley
College on Friday evening, 67-61, at Liebertz Gymnasium in Kings Point, N.Y.
With 44 seconds remaining in the game, the Wolverines were down 62-58 and were
poised to inch closer. However, thanks to a clutch offensive rebound by senior
guard Ryan Samuel,
the Mariners were able to reset the shot clock and draw the fouls en route to
the win. They will now face No. 18

U.S. Merchant Marine Academy men’s basketball team keeps rolling in as four
Mariners were named to Landmark All-Conference teams. Senior guard Ryan Samuel and
junior forward Matt Hueber were tabbed to the First-team, while junior forward Tom Izzo and
sophomore forward Jon Snead was selected for the Second-team. In addition, Head Coach John
Krikorian and his staff were voted the Landmark Conference Coaching Staff of
the Year. This announcement comes on the heels of USMMA jumping into the
D3hoops.com Top-25 poll and grabbing a No. 23 national ranking.
