MILTON, N.Y. (Nov. 3, 2018) – Freshman Robin King (Raymond, Ohio) came in first place at the ECAC Championship Meet on Saturday at the Hudson Valley Sportsdome. She was one of three Mariner freshmen to compete in the race. All three plebes placed in the top-15.
King broke the tape of the 6K race with a time of 26:42.4, nearly 21 seconds ahead of team champion Vassar's top runner. She is the first female to win ECACs in Academy history.
Classmate Brooke Jorstad (La Crosse, Wis.) came in third place in the event in 27:09.1. Rounding out the Merchant Marine runners was freshman Anna Grafton (Belmont, N.H.), who placed 14th with a time of 29:01.3.
Vassar took home the team championship with 16 points, while St. Joseph's-L.I. (63 points) and NYU (92 points) rounded out the top three.

Up next, the Mariners will run in the NCAA Atlantic Regional Meet hosted by Rowan University at Gloucester Co. DREAM Park in Logan Township, N.J., next Saturday, Nov. 10. The women's 6K race will begin at 11 a.m.
