Lefler Earns Second Skyline WVB Player Of The Week Honor Of The Season

KINGS POINT, N.Y. (Oct. 10, 2018) – The Skyline Conference recently announced that U.S. Merchant Marine Academy senior Kate Lefler (Norman, Okla.) was named the league's women's volleyball Player of the Week for the week ending Oct. 7. The accolade comes after Lefler's performances in the Mariners' two home victories last week - 3-0 over Skyline opponent Mount St. Mary on Wednesday and 3-0 over Medgar Evers on Thursday.

Lefler put down 6.5 kills per set while hitting .571 (26k-2e-42a). She led all players Wednesday night against MSMC with 22 kills on a .556 percentage (22k-2e-36a). The senior added four kills on six error-free attempts in one set of play on Thursday night.
