ECAC Selects Pope As DIII Metro WVB Co-Offensive Player of the Week

KINGS POINT, N.Y. (Oct. 12, 2016) – In addition to being named to the Skyline Weekly Honor Roll on Tuesday, USMMA junior Dominique Pope (Silver Spring, Md.) was selected as a Co-Offensive Player of the Week by the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) for Division III Metropolitan Women's Volleyball on Wednesday.

In the Mariners three matches last week, Pope recorded 37 kills and 39 digs to help lead Merchant Marine to a 2-1 record. Her 17 kills in a four-set win over St. Joseph's (L.I.) on Saturday was the highest single-match kill total for the Mariners thus far this season.

The junior outside hitter currently leads the Mariners and ranks third in the Skyline Conference with 2.89 kills per set.

The Mariners (10-6) are back at it tonight, when they travel to the Bronx to face Lehman College (4-15) in non-conference action. First serve is set for 7 p.m. at the Lightning's APEX Gymnasium.
